My vision as a County Commissioner for Wayne County:  To promote the growth of Wayne County, based on sound business, economic, financial and morale principles while representing my constitutients and the entire county in a fair and thoughtful manner.

Upon receiving a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration from Valdosta State College in 1970 , I began a career in the L.P. Gas business. This career lead me to Jesup in 1978 as a District manager with Texgas Corporation. I was attracted to the life style and people of Wayne County, having grown up on a farm in North Carolina and loving the small town - rural environment. I purchased a business in 1984 and decided to make Wayne County my family's home.

God has blessed me with children and grands, John Jr. and Janet Carter, a step son, Paul McDuffie and 4 grandsons. I am married to Pam Martin Shaver and we reside in Odum, GA. Please Email me or call if I can be of service.
