REGISTER TO VOTE!

The main purpose of the Registrar's office is to process voter applications and maintain voter's files for Wayne County and the municipality of Jesup, Georgia.

The office also processes all absentee applications and ballots. Absentee ballots are only issued from the Registrar's office. A voter may request an Absentee ballot for themselves with no reason if application is received through the mail. Early voting is offered to all registered voters the week prior to any election in person at the Registrars Office. As of September 2007 a Photo ID is reuired to vote.

How do I become a legal voter?

You must complete an application stating:

1- Full legal name
2- Residence address
3- Drivers License number is required if you don't want to give your whole Social Security number or the last four digits of your Social Security number. By law, these numbers are kept confidential and used for internal purposes only.
4- Date of birth
5- Signature and date signed

You sign an oath on the application stating that you are a citizen of the U.S. and a resident of Georgia, you reside at the address stated, that you are 18 years of age, that you are not a felon and that you are not mentally incompetent. It is the voter's responsibility to complete a new application each time they move within the county.
